Youth and Children
At St. James, our journey of faith includes children and youth. Young people join with people of all ages to worship together, learn together, serve together, and experience community together.
Worshiping
All ages worship together, with our youth participating in areas of worship leadership as ushers, assisting ministers, choir members, sound board operators, greeters, acolytes, etc.
Learning
We learn together on Sunday mornings as we hear Bible stories, pray, and talk about what it means to be followers of Jesus. Those youth in Middle School and Junior High are given the special opportunity of being in Confirmation. Confirmation Ministry includes learning Bible stories, studying Luther’s Small Catechism, and serving others in need.
Celebrating and Serving
We value our times of being together in celebration in ways that build relationships with each other and with people in our families and community. The young people serve as the hosts for the Easter breakfast and our Christmas smorgasbord provides fellowship and time to talk with the kids who presented the Christmas program.
